What is the Healthy Athletes Program
Launched in 1997, the Healthy Athletes Program aims to provide free health screenings in various fields, educate Special Olympics athletes in a welcoming and enjoyable environment, and train healthcare professionals and students to conduct health screenings for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Mission of the Healthy Athletes Program
To improve the health and well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and increase their access to quality healthcare and available health resources.
Health Disciplines in the Program
The Healthy Athletes Program includes eight main health disciplines. Each discipline offers a range of services that help achieve the program’s objectives:

Through the program, athletes receive multiple free medical services that provide guidance and necessary care alongside competitions and events, helping them maintain a healthy lifestyle.
