The Athlete Leaders Program is driven through sports, a core element of the Saudi Special Olympics. Through sports, athletes develop life skills such as discipline and teamwork, as well as leadership skills in sports development. As athletes gain these skills, they are provided opportunities to become leaders in key areas such as health, education, and youth programs. The program introduces a new concept that unlocks the leadership potential of athletes of all abilities, while actively engaging the following target groups:

Typically developing individuals can also participate, providing them with opportunities to adapt, learn, and improve behaviors and practices when engaging with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
